Terms of Service

Effective 12 September 2026. This is the current version.

1. What this is

These terms govern your use of Worlds Got Latent. By using the site or buying an entry you accept them. Contact: anshul915saini@gmail.com. How we handle data: Privacy Policy.

2. The Service

Worlds Got Latent is a public registry of novelty titles and digital certificates. Records are unverifiable by design: nothing on the site attests to any real achievement, and nobody checks. This is an entertainment product. It is not an award body, a credential, or an investment.

3. Entries and pricing

Claiming a title costs a one-time fee of one United States dollar ($1). You can claim an unclaimed title from the catalogue or write your own; self-written titles and all holder statements go through the Registrar, our automated review, before payment. Prices shown at checkout are final and include applicable VAT where required.

4. The taking mechanic

Any person may take any public record by paying the price listed on its page. That price is double the current price up to $16, then the current price plus half, rounded up to whole dollars. The previous holder is notified by email and may reclaim the record at the next price. Being dethroned is a core feature of the Service and is not grounds for a refund. Prices of records nobody has taken for 90 days may decay over time, and the daily featured record is discounted, as described on the site.

5. Nominations

A title nominated for another person is not published unless that person accepts. After you pay and confirm your email, the nominee receives an invitation with accept and decline links. They have 7 days. If they decline, or do not respond in time, the entry is cancelled and your payment is refunded automatically.

6. Digital delivery and withdrawal

Certificates and registry entries are delivered immediately once payment is complete and the email confirmation (or, for nominations, the acceptance) is clicked. At checkout you tick a box that reads: “I agree to the Terms and consent to immediate delivery of the digital content; I acknowledge that I thereby lose my 14-day right of withdrawal (§356(5) BGB).” By ticking it you expressly consent to immediate performance and acknowledge the loss of the withdrawal right. All sales are final after issuance.

7. Refunds

There are no refunds, except: (a) entries we remove for a rules violation you did not cause, refunded to the current holder; (b) declined or expired nominations; (c) duplicate charges, or a technical failure to deliver, including a steal completed by someone else before yours; (d) purchases not confirmed within 48 hours, which are cancelled; (e) where the law requires. Refunds go back to the original payment method through Stripe.

8. Content rules

You may not enter titles or statements that target an identifiable person other than yourself without their acceptance through a nomination, or that are hateful, sexual, harassing, defamatory, illegal, or primarily advertising. Names and links must not impersonate anyone or claim official recognition. The Registrar may refuse entries before payment; we may remove entries at any time for violations, with refunds as in section 7. You are responsible for what you submit.

9. Public by design

Titles, holder names, optional links, statements, prices and the theft history are published openly and may be indexed by search engines. A former holder's name stays in a record's history. Do not submit what you do not want public. For removal requests, contact us via the Contact page.

10. Your content, our licence

You keep ownership of the text you submit. You grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to display, reproduce and distribute it as part of the Service: on registry pages, on certificates, in link previews and share images, in emails to the people involved, and in site features such as the Record of the Day.

11. Acceptable use

No bots, no scraping for spam, no payment fraud, no circumventing rate limits, and no interfering with the Service. We may block users and cancel entries involved in abuse or fraud. Entries cancelled for fraud are not refunded where the law allows.

12. Availability, no warranties

The Service is provided as is. We do not guarantee uptime, the permanence of entries, or that the project continues indefinitely. If the Service is permanently discontinued, entries end with it. Entries are not property, investments or transferable assets.

13. Liability

We are liable without limit for intent and gross negligence. For slight negligence we are liable only for breach of essential contractual duties, and then only for the foreseeable, typical damage. Liability for injury to life, body or health, and under the Produkthaftungsgesetz, is unaffected.

14. Governing law and disputes

German law applies. If you are a consumer, the mandatory consumer protections of your country of residence are unaffected. The EU online dispute resolution platform is at ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr. We are neither obliged nor willing to take part in dispute resolution before a consumer arbitration board (§ 36 VSBG).

15. Changes

We may update these terms. The date at the top is the current version. Material changes are posted here; continued use after a change means acceptance. Changes do not affect purchases already completed.

16. Contact
